Holiday Concert

The LanChester Chorus will present a Holiday Concert at Oxford Friends Meeting on Sunday, November 23 at 6:30 pm. The Meeting is located at 260 South Third St. in Oxford. Admission is $10.00 for adults, $8.00 for children 5-12, under the age of 5 are free. Doors open at 6 p.m. and everyone is encouraged to attend.
Sunday’s concert will offer delightful music for the listener as a beginning to the Holiday Season. The LanChester Chorus consists of 30 members with mixed voices from communities within Lancaster and Chester Counties. Their programs are quite varied, and they are available to perform throughout the year.
They have presented Christmas concerts at Longwood Gardens and the Brandywine River Museum for a number of years. The Chorus also sang in the East Room of the White House during five (5) Christmas seasons. In December 2004 they were invited to sing at the Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the State Capitol in Harrisburg and at the Open House in the Governor’s mansion.
On numerous occasions they have presented both Christmas and secular programs at a variety of retirement communities in Lancaster and Chester Counties as well as the state of Delaware. They also sang the National Anthem at the Philadelphia Phillies game having made their fourth (4th) appearance there during the 2006 season. As well as singing the National Anthem at Clipper Stadium in Lancaster for the Barnstormers.
This concert was arranged as benefit for the early childhood education programs at George Fox Friends School. The mission of George Fox Friends School is to offer affordable early childhood education programs for infants, toddlers, pre-school and kindergarten children. Their programs are available from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; located on a 10 acre campus along Route 41 in Cochranville. Call 610-593-7122 for more information.
